Reimbursement information for Zone 1+2 myki pass holders
Since 1 January 2015, customers have been able to travel on trains, trams and buses across Zones 1 and 2 for the price of a Zone 1 fare.
Customers who in 2014 purchased a myki Zone 1+2 pass that extended beyond 1 January 2015 are eligible for a reimbursement for the 2015 Zone 2 portion of their pass.
They will receive a reimbursement in the coming weeks in the form of myki money credited to their myki.
The myki money reimbursement can be used:
- as a payment option to purchase a new myki pass;
- as a payment option to purchase and top up a new card;
- for travel outside your zones, for example into regional Victoria.
How will I know when I have been reimbursed?
You can check your balance online or at a myki reader, myki machine or myki check.
If you haven’t received your reimbursement by the end of March, contact our call centre on 1800 800 007 (6am to midnight daily).
Using myki money to purchase a myki pass
You can purchase myki pass with myki money at a myki machine, or just ask for assistance at the ticket office of any staffed station.
Please note: myki money cannot be combined with other payment options (e.g. cash or EFT) to purchase myki pass, so please ensure you have enough myki money on your card to purchase the new myki pass. You can do this by adding additional myki money to the reimbursement amount.
Our fare calculator can help you to make the best use of your reimbursement.
Using myki money to purchase and top up a new myki card
You can use myki money to purchase a new myki card and transfer the remaining myki money balance for travel. This could be used as a spare for friends and family.
Visit the ticket office at any staffed station to use your myki money to buy and top up a full fare or concession myki. You can also buy and top up a full fare myki with your reimbursement at any myki machine.
