Ballarat line replacement bus arrangements
Added: 9 March 2018
Public Transport Victoria (PTV) would like to advise passengers on the Ballarat and Maryborough lines that due to a last-minute withdrawal by our contracted coach supplier we will be using alternative bus options as rail replacement vehicles.
After months of planning to enable the $2.7 million Ballarat line upgrade works to take place over the long weekend, PTV were advised on Thursday that our contracted coach suppliers were no longer able to supply their agreed services.
At short notice we have managed to source alternative buses from other operators to deploy to the Ballarat line to ensure passengers on the Ballarat and Maryborough lines can still get to their destination.
However, passengers are being advised that some buses may not have toilets on board, or the full luggage capacity normally provided on road coaches. Passengers are being asked to please plan accordingly.
Some passengers may wish to reconsider their travel on the Ballarat line today.
We would like to apologise in advance to passengers for this late change and any inconvenience that this causes.
V/Line will have additional staff at stations along the line to assist passengers and regular updates will be provided on the V/Line website, through station announcements, on social media and via the smartphone apps.
Trains will resume as normal for the first service on Tuesday morning.
