Public Transport Victoria today published performance results for June 2016, with V/Line and Yarra Trams recording improvements in punctuality.
- V/Line delivered 88.2 per cent of services on-time in June.
- Yarra Trams delivered 98.9 per cent of timetabled services in June.
- Metro delivered 98.5 per cent of timetabled services in June.
Yarra Trams delivered its best punctuality figures since January 2016, with 85.4 per cent of services on-time.
Public Transport Victoria Acting Executive Director, Performance and Contract Management, Warwick Horsley said Yarra Trams and V/Line passengers have benefited from an increase in on-time services in June.
“This is a win for tram passengers, with Yarra Trams delivering 98.9 per cent of timetabled services last month while also completing major infrastructure upgrade projects in Kew and at Camberwell Junction,” Mr Horsley said.
V/Line also delivered an improvement in its punctuality figures from May, with 88.2 per cent of services delivered on-time, compared to 87.9 in May 2016.
The most improved lines in June were Ararat & Maryborough, Ballarat, Geelong and Seymour.
“With all V/Line services now back on track and an adjusted timetable introduced, we are committed to ensuring that regional passengers get the service they expect and deserve,” said Mr Horsley.
Metro’s punctuality reached a milestone in June, marking 51 consecutive months of exceeding the 90 per cent punctuality threshold with 91.4 per cent of services running on time.
“With around 800,000 trips taken every day on the metropolitan rail network, this is a great achievement for Metro which shows it continues to deliver punctual services for passengers,” Mr Horsley said.
