Public Transport Victoria today published performance results for June 2017.
- Metro delivered 91.7 per cent of services on-time in June
- Yarra Trams delivered 83.9 per cent of services on-time in June
- V/Line delivered 84.6 per cent of services on-time in June.
Public Transport Victoria Acting Executive Director, Network Service Delivery, Dean Purkis said that June has seen an overall improvement in performance across the network.
“V/Line has recorded its highest level of overall punctuality so far this year, and Yarra Trams is reporting its best result since January,” said Mr Purkis.
“Punctuality on V/Line services has improved on eight of the 11 lines, with services on the busiest regional line, Geelong, recording their best punctuality since October last year.”
On Metro trains, 91.7 per cent of train services ran on time in June, up from 90.4 per cent the previous month and 91.4 per cent in the same month last year. 11 of the 16 metropolitan lines demonstrated punctuality improvement on May.
Overall tram punctuality was up on the previous month, and 1.3 percent higher than the 12-month average. Passengers also benefitted in June from the introduction of the first two trams from the 2015 order of 30 new e-class trams, with these going into service on routes 96, 86 and 11.
“With a 16 day construction blitz currently underway to take advantage of the quieter school holiday period, we can expect that the month ahead will be challenging for all the operators,” said Mr Purkis.
“We’re working hard across the major agencies to minimise travel disruptions to passengers during this period.”
June performance results are available on the PTV website at Track Record.
