May performance results published
Added: 10 June 2016
Public Transport Victoria today published performance results for May 2016, showing an improvement in reliability on all three modes of public transport.
- Metro delivered 99.0 per cent of timetabled services in May
- V/Line delivered 98.7 per cent of timetabled services in May
- Yarra Trams delivered 98.9 per cent of timetabled services in May
Public Transport Victoria Acting Executive Director, Performance and Contract Management, Warwick Horsley said this consistent improvement means better outcomes for passengers travelling on the network.
Metro’s punctuality reached a milestone this month, marking 50 consecutive months of exceeding the 90 per cent punctuality threshold with 92.9 per cent of services running on time.
“This achievement demonstrates that Metro is consistently delivering for passengers, with 92.4 per cent of services running on time over the last 12 months,” Mr Horsley said.
Yarra Trams delivered the best May punctuality since May 2009, with 83.7 per cent of services running on time compared to 80.6 per cent for the same month last year.
“New Preston Depot is already helping to deliver improvements, and together with the rollout of E-Class trams we are taking significant steps towards modernising Melbourne’s tram network,” Mr Horsley said.
V/Line’s punctuality remained steady from the previous month thanks to continued service restoration.
“Improvements to the regional network, such as the Rowsley Crossing Loop, will help V/Line to boost reliability and punctuality of its trains,” Mr Horsley said.
“From 26 June, all V/Line trains will be back on tracks, providing regional passengers with the service they deserve.”
The May performance results are now available at Track Record.
