October performance results published

Public Transport Victoria today published performance results for October 2015, showing Metro has achieved performance targets for 43 consecutive months, with more than 90 per cent of services on-time.

  • Metro has delivered 92.3 per cent of services on-time in October
  • V/Line has delivered 88.5 per cent of services on-time
  • Yarra Trams has delivered 82.6 per cent of services on-time.

Public Transport Victoria Director of Performance and Contract Management, Jeroen Weimar said performance across much of the network was providing customers with a reliable service.

Yarra Trams performance has dipped slightly this month with important track maintenance and repair works carried out during October.

“Works to improve tram infrastructure help cater for future demand of our tram network. The improvements carried out in October will make our network safer, more attractive and accessible to all people,” Mr Weimar said.

Mr Weimar said Metro has delivered its 43rd consecutive month of more than 90 per cent of services on-time.

“Metro keeps on delivering month after month for our customers, with performance over 90 per cent again,” Mr Weimar said.

Mr Weimar said V/Line’s overall on-time performance for October was down slightly on the previous month but individual lines have seen improvements.

“It’s been pleasing to see an improvement in on-time performance on the Ballarat, Gippsland and Seymour lines last month compared with September ,” Mr Weimar said.

“Every day V/Line analyses the causes of delays that affect the most customers. Some delays are outside V/Line’s control, like emergency services and police requests, but they concentrate on finding solutions to issues that affect the same trains more than once.”
