September performance results published
Added: 7 October 2016
Public Transport Victoria today published performance results for September 2016, showing an improvement across all three modes of transport.
- V/Line delivered 90.9 per cent of services on-time in September.
- Yarra Trams delivered 84.5 per cent of services on-time in September.
- Metro delivered 92.9 per cent of services on-time in September.
Public Transport Victoria Acting Executive Director, Performance and Contract Management, Geoffroy Denis said this consistent improvement is delivering more reliable and punctual services for passengers travelling on the network.
“V/Line timetable adjustments introduced in June this year are already showing results for commuters, with the Geelong line reporting its highest punctuality results since 2006.”
Yarra Trams delivered a reliable month for passengers by meeting performance thresholds for punctuality and reliability, delivering 98.9 per cent of timetabled services.
“Work is now complete on the new tram terminus in Acland Street for Route 96, Melbourne’s busiest tram line,” Mr Denis said, “and we are continuing to roll out the larger capacity E-Class trams across the network.”
“Despite extensive construction works across the network including level crossing removals, Metro’s punctuality has improved; having now achieved over 90 per cent of services running on-time for 54 consecutive months,” Mr Denis said.
“In particular, the Pakenham and Cranbourne lines have reported their best punctuality results since August 2015.
“These sorts of improvements are only possible thanks to the patience and understanding of our passengers as we continue to transform and modernise our public transport network.”
The September performance results are now available at Track Record.
