We’re removing 75 dangerous and congested level crossings with 44 already gone. Over summer we’ll continue removals on the Cranbourne, Pakenham and Frankston lines.

There will also be other critical maintenance work across the public transport network.

We encourage you to plan ahead and allow extra travel time this summer, with work on Victoria’s Big Build continuing on the public transport and road network.

From Sunday 31 January, there's a new timetable on the Frankston Line and the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines.

For the Frankston Line this means 45 new services each week, with 10 new services during in the busy morning and afternoon peaks. Frankston Line trains will no longer run through the City Loop. Instead, trains will run direct to Flinders Street and Southern Cross stations, before travelling on to Werribee or Williamstown.

For the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines this means 90 new services each week, with 15 new services in the busy morning and afternoon periods. Cranbourne and Pakenham services will run one way through the City Loop all day, stopping at Parliament, Melbourne Central, Flagstaff, Southern Cross and terminate at Flinders Street Station.
