We’re busy removing level crossings

As part of Victoria's Big Build, we're removing 18 level crossings on the Frankston Line and building 12 new stations, including Edithvale, Chelsea, and Bonbeach, as part of a $3 billion upgrade on the line that will improve safety, reduce congestion and allow more trains to run more often.

From Edithvale to Bonbeach we're removing five dangerous and congested level crossings by lowering the Frankston Line and building three new stations at Edithvale, Chelsea and Bonbeach. We're creating a more direct road network that will improve traffic flow, reduce congestion and make it easier to get in and out of the local area.

There will be major construction on the Frankston Line from 9pm Sunday 25 July to November 2021.

Important dates

Most buses replacing trains on sections of the Frankston and Stony Point lines from 9pm Sunday 25 July to last service Sunday 1 August will be low-floor to accommodate passengers with accessibility requirements. Standby taxis will also be available. Find out more about accessible travel.
