Major disruptions on regional trains

Be sure to plan ahead, allow more time for your journey and consider alternatives if you can during the works, especially if you’re travelling over the school holiday period.

Major disruptions in March

Seymour and Shepparton lines
  • From first service Wednesday 8 March to last service Saturday 1 April, coaches replace trains between Southern Cross, Seymour and Shepparton.

Major disruptions in April and May

Ballarat, Ararat & Maryborough lines
  • From first service Tuesday 11 April to last service Sunday 23 April, coaches replace trains between Southern Cross and Melton. Coach replacement services will not stop at Footscray.
  • From first service Saturday 22 April to last service Sunday 23 April, coaches replace trains between Southern Cross and Ballarat, Ararat and Maryborough. Coach replacement services will not stop at Footscray.
  • From first service Wednesday 17 May to last service Sunday 4 June, coaches replace trains from Southern Cross to Ballarat, Ararat, and Maryborough.
Geelong Line
  • From first service Tuesday 11 April to last service Friday 21 April, V/Line trains terminate/originate at Wyndham Vale. Buses will run between Wyndham Vale and Werribee stations—V/Line passengers can travel on metropolitan trains between Southern Cross and Werribee.
  • From first service Saturday 22 April to last service Sunday 23 April, coaches replace trains between Southern Cross and Waurn Ponds. Coach replacement services will not stop at Footscray.
  • From Monday 24 April to Wednesday 3 May, coaches replace trains between Wyndham Vale and Waurn Ponds. Trains will run between Southern Cross and Wyndham Vale. Coach replacement services will not stop at Footscray.
  • Shuttle buses will run from Wyndham Vale and Tarneit stations to connect passengers to the metropolitan Werribee Line.
  • A direct ferry service will be available to book each weekday morning and evening between Geelong and Docklands as an alternative travel option.
Warrnambool Line
  • From first service Tuesday 11 April to last service Friday 21 April, coaches replace trains between Southern Cross and Geelong.
  • From first service Saturday 22 April to last service Wednesday 3 May, coaches replace trains between Southern Cross and Warrnambool. Coach replacement services will not stop at Footscray.
Seymour and Shepparton lines
  • From Sunday 2 April to Thursday 6 April, coaches replace trains between Seymour and Shepparton.
  • From Saturday 8 April to Wednesday 12 April, coaches replace evening trains between Southern Cross to Seymour.
  • From 9.30pm to last service on Sunday 9 April and Monday 10 April, coaches replace trains between Southern Cross and Seymour.
  • On Tuesday 11 April and Wednesday 12 April, coaches replace some evening trains between Southern Cross and Seymour.
Bendigo and Echuca lines
  • From first service Thursday 13 April to last service Friday 21 April, Bendigo and Echuca lines will terminate at Sunbury Station. Passengers will travel to and from Southern Cross and Footscray on a Sunbury Line metropolitan train service.
Swan Hill Line
  • From first service Thursday 13 April to last service Friday 21 April, coaches replace trains between Southern Cross and Bendigo. Coach replacement services will not stop at Footscray.
