New and improved bus services for Melton, Rockbank and surrounds

On Monday 2 December 2019, new and improved bus services were introduced for Melbourne’s booming west.

The new Route 444 Rockbank Station – Aintree gives residents in Aintree access to public transport for the first time since the new estate was established and connects them to trains travelling to Melbourne and Ballarat.

Temporary change to Route 444

From 2 December 2019 to 19 April 2020, the service will not travel the full length of Frontier Avenue (to meet Fields Street) as the road is not yet completed. Until 19 April 2020, it will instead turn left at Timbertop Parade. View detailed route information.

From 20 April 2020, buses will travel the full length of Frontier Avenue, turn left at Field Street, then right back on to Frontier Avenue. View route information.

Other changes

The new Route 454 Cobblebank Station – Melton Station connects locals between the new estate and growing areas of Melton South to trains to Melbourne and Ballarat. The new route also helps get students to four local schools within short walking distance of the route, including Staughton College, Al Iman College, St. Anthony’s Primary School and Melton South Primary School.

The existing Route 459 Melton Station – Arnolds Creek bus service was altered to help reduce route duplication south of Melton Station, and extended further north along Claret Ash Boulevard. The extension gives the community of Harkness new public transport options, while the shortened route in the south offers a more direct journey to Melton Station.

Route 456 Sunshine Station – Melton via Caroline Springs got an updated timetable, with all services now stopping at Rockbank via Westcott Parade (instead of every second service).

The below bus routes also got updated timetables to better reflect current traffic conditions. Click the links for route information or plan your journey on Journey Planner.
