Accessible regional services

All V/Line stations are wheelchair-accessible. The conductor will help you board the train by placing a ramp between the platform and the carriage. Station staff are also available to help all customers.

Fully accessible toilets are provided on Sprinter and VLocity trains, while limited accessible toilet facilities are on locomotive-hauled trains.

Some V/Line coaches on regular timetabled services are wheelchair-accessible. Customers should provide 24 hours advance notice of their planned journey.

Customers taking wheelchairs or scooters on coaches or trains should ensure their mobility aid fits onboard V/Line services. See Mobility aids.

Space for customers with disabilities on trains may be limited and customers may be restricted to particular parts of the train.

Need help with luggage?

If you have difficulty carrying your luggage on board you can book your luggage through V/Line’s checked luggage service on most long-distance services.

This is available on the Albury, Bairnsdale, Shepparton, Swan Hill and Warrnambool lines. Checked luggage will only be carried to stations beyond Seymour (Albury and Swan Hill services), Traralgon (Bairnsdale services), Eaglehawk (Swan Hill services) and Marshall (Warrnambool services).

Checked luggage must be booked at least 30 minutes prior to train departure. Checked luggage is automatically transferred to connecting V/Line coaches.

The total luggage limit for all V/Line services is 30 kilograms.

People can carry two items of luggage, with no one item weighing more than 20 kilograms, as well as one piece of hand luggage.

When checking in luggage, station or agency staff will give you the receipt portion of the luggage tag. You must present this tag to retrieve your luggage.

Other regional services

Regional bus services operate in Ballarat, Bendigo, Geelong, Moe, Morwell and Traralgon.

Some regional city routes operate with low-floor buses. In Ballarat, all services are wheelchair-accessible.
