Boost for buses in Caroline Springs area

From 26 November, six bus routes will be upgraded and a new route added to the Caroline Springs bus network:

  • Route 215 will be more frequent on weekend afternoons and short trips between Caroline Springs and Burnside will be removed
  • Route 216 will operate between Sunshine Station and Brighton Beach and be replaced by the new route 426 between the Caroline Springs Town Centre and Sunshine
  • Route 456 will travel via Neale Road and Hopkins Road instead of Caroline Springs Boulevard. There will also be earlier morning services Monday to Saturday
  • Routes 426 and 456 will provide better coordination with trains on the Sunbury line
  • Route 420 will be more frequent on Sundays during the day
  • Route 461 will be re-routed via Holland Way to improve coverage west of Caroline Springs Boulevard
  • Route 462 will operate more frequently during peak periods

New bus service for Deer Park

Residents in northern Deer Park will benefit from the new Route 422 which will provide an hourly connection between Sunshine Station and Brimbank shopping centre. The service will run via Station Road, Tilburn Road and Forest Street, 7am and 8:30pm on weekdays, 8am to 7:30pm on Saturdays and 9am to 6:30pm on Sundays.

Services will start on 29 October. More information will be available from late September.

Minor route change for Route 10 Alfredton to Ballarat Station via Wendouree

From Sunday 17 September 2017, Route 10 Alfredton to Ballarat Station via Wendouree will no longer travel down Forest Street between Howitt and Norman streets.

Instead, Route 10 will continue to travel along Norman Street to Invermay Park and then head south down Doveton Street North towards Ballarat Station.

This change to Route 10 will provide residents with an east-west link, enabling them to a travel to local destinations such as Wendouree Indoor Netball Complex, Stockland Wendouree Shopping Centre, Ryan’s SUPA IGA Northway and the Ballarat General Cemetery.

Better Route 823 service for Classic Residences

From late October, Route 823 will travel from Dendy Street to Marriage Road.

This change will make it easier for residents of Classic Residences Retirement Village to catch the bus by extending the route to Thomas Street.

More peak period trains for the Metro network

Timetables on the Sunbury, Werribee, Craigieburn, Hurstbridge and Frankston lines were updated on 27 August.

An extra 30 services nowl run every week on the Craigieburn, Sunbury and Werribee lines, giving passengers more choice during the busiest times of day.

Route 833 is growing

Route 833 has been extended to give passengers better access to schools, shops and Carrum Station.

The bus will travel the same path between Frankston and Frankston-Dandenong Road before continuing to Carrum Station via Wedge Road, McCormicks Road, Thompson Road and McLeod Road.

Earlier services for better connections on the bus from Lancefield to Kyneton via Sunbury

Some services on the bus route from Lancefield to Kyneton via Sunbury bus route now leave earlier, giving passengers better connections to trains and buses to school at Sunbury Station.

The new departure times will be:

  • 6:20am from Lancefield to Sunbury (previously 6:30am), arriving Sunbury Station at 6:55am.

  • 7:40am from Lancefield to Sunbury (previously 8:10am ), arriving Sunbury Station at 8:15am.

  • 7am from Sunbury to Lancefield (previously 7:20am), arriving Lancefield at 7:35am.

Changes to tram Route 58 in South Yarra

Tram Route 58 now travels down Toorak Road West and turns right onto St Kilda Road. It no longer stops on Park Street and Domain Road.

Tram Route 58 now stops at two new accessible stops, Fawkner Park and Toorak Road, and the Bowen Crescent stop.

There’s no change to how often the bus runs and travel times are the same. The timetable hasn’t changed for existing stops.

Changes to tram Route 58 in South Yarra

From Wednesday July 12, there will be some changes to Tram Route 58 while the new Domain Station is built. It will travel down Toorak Road West and turn right onto St Kilda Road, and no longer stop on Park Street and Domain Road.

It will stop at two new accessible stops, Fawkner Park and Toorak Road, and service the Bowen Crescent stop.

There will be no change to how often the service runs and travel times will stay the same. The timetable will not change for existing stops.
