Cranbourne and Pakenham lines: Buses replacing trains at selected times between Friday 5 October and Sunday 28 October 2018

Buses replace trains on sections of the Cranbourne and Pakenham line at selected times during October, due to line upgrades and station works.

Journey times will increase.

Service changes

Buses replace trains as follows:

Friday 19 October to Saturday 20 October

Due to line upgrades and signalling works, buses will replace trains between Dandenong and Pakenham from 9.10pm Friday 19 October until 11pm Saturday 20 October.

Journey times may increase by up to 45 minutes.

Saturday 20 October to Sunday 21 October

Due to line upgrades and station works, buses will replace trains between Caulfield and Westall from 11.30pm Saturday 20 October until 9pm Sunday 21 October.

Journey times may increase by up to 45 minutes.

Buses will also replace trains from 8.45pm to last train on Sunday 21 October between Flinders Street and Westall.

Sunday 21 October to Wednesday 24 October

Due to manitenance works, buses replace trains between South Yarra, Caulfield and Westall stations on Sunday 21 October, 8.45pm to last train.

Due to manitenance works, buses replace trains between Burnley, South Yarra and Caulfield stations each night from Monday 22 October to Wednesday 22 October, 8.30pm to last train.

Friday 26 October to Sunday 28 October

Due to line upgrades and station works, buses will replace trains between Flinders Street and Caulfield from 8pm Friday 26 October to Sunday 28 October.*

*Buses will also replace trains on the Frankston line from 8pm Friday 26 to last service Sunday 28 October.

For stations between Caulfield, Cranbourne and Pakenham take a Belgrave, Lilydale, Alamein or Glen Waverley line train to Burnley then change to an express replacement bus to Caulfield.

For stations between South Yarra and Malvern, take a Sandringham line train to South Yarra then change to a stopping all stations replacement bus.

Journey times may increase by 50 minutes.

Travelling on rail-replacement services

Passengers with additional needs or requiring assistance are advised to contact their local train station in advance or ask staff at the replacement bus stops to organise travel.

For the safety and comfort of all passengers, there are restrictions on what you may take with you on buses and trams.

You cannot:

  • Take a conventional bike on a bus or tram (only folding bikes that meet the size criteria).
  • Take an animal on a bus or tram unless it is in a suitable container. Exceptions apply for assistance dogs.
  • Take a surfboard on a tram or a bus.

Exit Carnegie Station on to Koornang Road Street and turn right. Walk approx. 190m to Dandenong Road, cross the road, turn right and proceed to the Metro designated bus stop.

Exit Carnegie Station, walk along Koornang Road for approx. 190m and turn left at Dandenong Road. Proceed to the Metro designated bus stop.

Murrumbeena

Neerim Road

Exit Murrumbeena Station on to Murrumbeena Road and turn right. Cross Neerim Road at the pedestrian crossing, turn right and proceed to the Metro designated bus stop, located next to laneway.

Bus Stop

Exit Murrumbeena Station on to Murrumbeena Road. Turn right and walk approx. 25 metres. Turn right again on to Neerim road. Walk for 70 metres and proceed to bus stop located near the pedestrian crossing.

Hughesdale

Bus Stop
Poath Road

Exit Hughesdale Station on to Poath Road, turn left and proceed approx. 50m to the bus stop.

Bus Stop

Exit Hughesdale Station on to Poath Road, use the pedestrian crossing on right to cross Willesden Road and then Poath Road. Turn right and proceed to the bus stop.

Oakleigh

Haughton Road

Exit Oakleigh Station, via the ramp and turn left on to Haughton Road. Proceed to bus stop, located in front of the station entrance.

Exit Oakleigh Station, via the ramp and turn left on to Haughton Road. Cross at the pedestrian crossing, turn left and proceed approx. 50m to the Metro designated bus stop.

Huntingdale

Bus Stop
Huntingdale Road

Exit Huntingdale Station on to Huntingdale Road and turn right. Proceed to the pedestrian crossing, cross Huntingdale Road, turn right and proceed to the bus stop.

Bus Stop

Exit Huntingdale Station on to Huntingdale Road and turn right. Proceed to bus stop, located before the pedestrian crossing.

Clayton

Clayton Road

Exit Clayton Station on to Clayton Road. Turn right and cross Carinish Road. Walk 80m to Metro designated bus stop. 

Metro Designated Bus Stop
Clayton Road

Exit Clayton Station on to Clayton Road. Turn right and proceed to traffic lights at Carinish Road. Cross at lights, turn left and then cross lights on Clayton Road. Turn right and walk north 200m to Metro designated bus stop.

Westall

Rayhur Street, Westall Station Entrance

Exit Westall Station on to Rayhur Street and proceed to the Metro designated bus stop in front of the station entrance.
