Flagstaff and Parliament stations: No lift access from Tuesday 3 January to Sunday, 12 March 2017

Due to lift upgrade works in order to improve safety and access to platforms, there will be no lift access at Flagstaff and Parliament stations from the first service on Tuesday 3 January until the last service on Sunday, 12 March 2017.

Escalators will continue to remain in operation as normal at both stations.

Disembarking at Flagstaff or Parliament stations

For customers requiring lift access and wishing to disembark at either of these stations, please travel to Melbourne Central Station where a maxi taxi will be provided to either Flagstaff or Parliament stations for your onward journey.

Customer service staff are available to assist you at the concourse on arrival at Melbourne Central Station.

Boarding at Flagstaff or Parliament stations

For customers requiring lift access upon arrival to catch a train at Flagstaff or Parliament stations, staff are available on street level to arrange a maxi taxi to take you to Melbourne Central Station.

Lifts will continue to provide access to the platforms at Melbourne Central Station.

Customers are advised to press the red help button on the station platform if a staff member cannot be located and further assistance is required.

Lift access remains available at Flinders Street, Melbourne Central and Southern Cross stations.

Customers travelling to or from Parliament Station may wish to consider the following trams that service Southern Cross Station:

  • Route 86 (partially serviced by low-floor trams) or Route 96 (fully-serviced by low-floor trams) along Bourke Street
  • Route 11 or 48 (partially serviced by low-floor trams) or Route 109 (fully-serviced by low-floor trams) along Collins Street
