Hurstbridge line stations: Temporary car park closures and changes to pedestrian access until mid-2018

Due to works as part of the Hurstbridge Rail Line Upgrade Project, there will be temporary long-term and short-term partial closures of station car parks, and changes to pedestrian access, in and around stations on the Hurstbridge line.
Please note: Selected stations on the South Morang line may also be affected by temporary car park closures.
During construction, station car park users are encouraged to plan their travel and consider alternative transport to nearby stations and car parks. Customers are advised to observe all signage and safety instructions put in place by workers.
Partial car park closure: Friday 21 April 2017 – April 2018
As part of works to duplicate the track between Heidelberg and Rosanna stations, approximately 50 long-term car space closures are planned in the main car park.
The Burgundy Street car park entrance will be closed from Friday 21 April 2017 and will reopen in April 2018. Customers will be required to enter the station car park via the Bell Street-Banksia Street entrance.
During the partial closure, alternative customer parking will be provided within a 12-minute walk of Heidelberg Station.
Alternative car parking is available at the following locations:
- Powlett Street (west side), 29 car spaces
- Powlett Street (east side), 20 car spaces
- Darebin Street, six car spaces
- Banksia Street, 11 car spaces
Due to construction works as part of the Lower Plenty Road Level Crossing Removal Project and building of the new Rosanna Station, there will be short-term and long-term car park closures at Rosanna Station from early July 2017 until late 2018.
The car park to the east of Rosanna Station on Turnham Avenue will close completely from early July 2017 until late 2018. A temporary closure of the Rosanna Station car park on Beetham Parade will also be required in July 2017 before its long-term closure from mid-September 2017 until late 2018.
Replacement parking will be available on Ellesmere Parade, Station Road and Beetham Parade.
Long-term car park closures
- The Turnham Avenue car park to the east of Rosanna Station will close from 1am Monday 3 July and will reopen in late 2018
- The Beetham Parade car park (west of Rosanna Station) will close from 1am on Monday 11 September 2017 until late 2018
Alternative car spaces
During the closures, alternative customer parking will be provided within a 10-minute walk of Rosanna Station during the planned station car park closures in the following locations:
- Approximately 48 spaces on the east side of Beetham Parade between 18 Beetham Parade and Hillside Road (unrestricted)
- Approximately 10 spaces on the north side of Station Road between 40 Station Road and Grove Road (metered)
- Approximately 100 spaces on the east side of Ellesmere Parade
The pedestrian crossing on Wingrove Street, opposite Naroon Road, will close from Friday 21 April 2017 until mid-2018.
The nearest pedestrian crossings are located at Grange Road and Alphington Station. Please note: there is no ramp at Alphington Station. Only stairs are available to cross the rail corridor.
Customers are advised to follow detour signs to the nearest pedestrian crossing point.
The new pedestrian crossing will be built closer to Fullham Road as part of the removal of Grange Road level crossing.
Wingrove Street (between Kelvin Road and Grange Road) will be open one way (westbound) to vehicle traffic from Thursday 25 May until mid-2018. Wingrove Street (between Perry Street and Grange Road) will be open one way (eastbound) to vehicle traffic from late July 2017 until mid-2018.

Due to works as part of the Lower Plenty Road Level Crossing Removal Project, the pedestrian railway crossing to the south of Rosanna Station (connecting Turnham Avenue with Beetham Parade across the railway line) will permanently close from 1am on Monday 11 September 2017.
Pedestrians can detour via Lower Plenty Road.
When the new station opens in 2018, there will be unrestricted pedestrian access between east and west sides of the line, beneath the elevated rail.
