Werribee and Williamstown lines: Buses replacing trains on Sunday 23 September 2018

Buses replace trains between North Melbourne and Newport/Williamstown stations on Sunday 23 September, first train to last train, due to Metro Tunnel Project works.

Journey times may increase by 50 minutes.

Service changes

Buses replace Werribee trains between North Melbourne and Newport stations. Buses replace Williamstown trains between North Melbourne and Williamstown stations.

Travelling on rail-replacement services

Passengers with special needs are advised to contact their local train station in advance or ask staff at the replacement bus stops to organise travel.

For the safety and comfort of all passengers, there are restrictions on what you may take with you on buses and trams.

You cannot:

  • Take a conventional bike on a bus or tram (only folding bikes that meet the size criteria).
  • Take an animal on a bus or tram unless it is in a suitable container. Exceptions apply for assistance dogs.
  • Take a surfboard on a tram or a bus.

Exit North Melbourne Station through main entrance on to Adderley Street, turn left and proceed approx. 50m to the PTV stop in Dryburgh Street.

South Kensington

Kensington Road

Exit South Kensington Station onto Childers Street. Turn left and proceed approximately 500 metres to Kensington Road. Turn right and proceed approximately 30 metres to the bus stop.

Exit South Kensington Station onto Childers Street. Turn left and proceed approximately 500 metres to Kensington Road. Use the pedestrian crossing to cross Kensington Road with care. Turn right and proceed approximately 30 metres to bus stop.

Footscray

Bus Stop
Irving Street, Footscray Station entrance

Exit Footscray Station and turn left onto Irving Street. Proceed along footpath for approximately 100 metres to the bus stop directly in front of taxi rank.

Exit Footscray Station and turn left onto Irving Street. Proceed along footpath to pedestrian crossing and cross Irving Street with care. Turn right proceed approximately 30 metres to the regular Route 409 bus stop.

Seddon

Metro Designated Bus Stop
Pentland Parade

Exit Seddon Station on to Pentland Parade. Proceed along the footpath for approx. 100m to the bus stop directly in front of taxi rank.

Exit Seddon Station on to Pentland Street. Cross Pentland Parade with caution and proceed to Metro designated bus stop on left.

Yarraville

Bus Stop
Birmingham Street

Exit Yarraville Station on to Birmingham Street. Cross Birmingham Street with caution and proceed to Metro designated bus stop opposite station entrance.

Exit Yarraville Station on to Birmingham Street. Cross Birmingham Street with caution and proceed to Metro designated bus stop opposite station entrance.

Spotswood

Hudsons Road

Exit Spotswood Station onto Hall Street. Turn left and proceed to the pedestrian crossing on Hall Street. Cross Hall Street with care and turn left towards Hudsons Road. Turn right and proceed approximately 50 metres to the Metro designated bus stop on Hudsons Road.

Exit Spotswood Station onto Hall Street. Turn left and proceed to the pedestrian crossing on Hall Street. Cross Hall Street with care and turn left towards Hudsons Road. Cross Hudsons Road with care and turn right. Proceed approximately 50 metres to the Metro designated bus stop.

Newport

Bus Interchange
Mason Street, Route 431 stop

Exit Newport Station via the subway and proceed underneath Melbourne Road. Turn right and proceed approximately 100 metres to the bus interchange on Mason Street.

Exit Newport Station via the subway and proceed underneath Melbourne Road. Turn right and proceed approximately 100 metres to the bus interchange on Mason Street.

North Williamstown

Metro Designated Bus Stop
Ferguson Street

Exit North Williamstown Station and turn right onto Station Road. Use the pedestrian crossing to cross Station Road and Power Street. Proceed to Ferguson Street. Cross Ferguson Street with care, turn left and proceed approximately 30m to the Metro Designated Bus Stop.

Exit North Williamstown Station and turn left onto Kororoit Creek Road. Turn left and walk approximately 80m towards Station Road. Use the pedestrian crossing to cross Station Road and Power Street and proceed to Ferguson Street. Continue along the footpath to the Metro Designated Bus Stop.

Williamstown Beach

Metro Designated Bus Stop
Railway Place

Exit Williamstown Beach Station onto Railway Place. Turn left, follow the pedestrian footpath and proceed to Metro Designated Bus Stop outside the station entrance.

Exit Williamstown Beach Station onto Railway Crescent. Turn right and go through the subway to the opposite side of the station. Proceed to the Metro Designated Bus Stop opposite the Primary School.

Disembark bus at the bus Metro Designated Bus Stop in front of Williamstown Station, located off Ann Street.
