Horse Racing returns to Melbourne at the Flemington Racecourse! Public transport is your best way to enjoy it, with extra services to help you get to and from the Flemington Racecourse on Saturday 21 June 2025.
- Gates Open: 11.15am
- First Race: 11.55am
- Main Race: 3.25pm
- Last Race: 4.35pm

Metropolitan train
Getting to Flemington Racecourse
Trains will operate from Southern Cross (Platform 8) stopping only at North Melbourne (Platform 2), enroute to Flemington Racecourse (Platform 1).
- From 11am, services will depart every 30 minutes.
During the above period, services will stop via North Melbourne enroute to Southern Cross with passengers.
The last departure from Southern Cross will be at 1.30pm
Leaving from Flemington Racecourse
Trains will operate from Flemington Racecourse (Platform 1), stopping only at North Melbourne (Platform 1) enroute to Southern Cross (Platform 8).
Trains will depart Flemington Racecourse approximately as follows:
- 20 minutes after Race 7: 3.45pm
- 20 minutes after Race 8: 4.20pm
- 20 minutes after Last Race: 4.55pm
- Then depart at: 5.15pm, 5.35pm, 5.55pm
Durning the above period, services will operate via North Melbourne to Flemington Racecourse with passengers.
The final service from Flemington Racecourse will depart at 5.55pm from (Platform 1).
Metropolitan tram
Getting to and from Flemington Racecourse
- Trams will operate via Route 57 from Stop 01 Flinders Street / Elizabeth Street and passengers can alight at Stop 32 Sandown Road/ Epsom Road via Flemington Road.

Getting to and from Flemington Racecourse
The following bus route travels close to Flemington Racecourse:
Passengers can catch buses from Footscray Station and alight at Langs Road/Showgrounds.

Getting to Flemington Racecourse
Passengers arriving at North Melbourne and Southern Cross stations are advised to change trains and catch a Flemington Racecourse service.

Passengers are advised to catch any train from Flemington Racecourse and alight at Southern Cross or North Melbourne stations and change to a regional train.
