Three new accessible tram stops now open on Nicholson St

17 Sep 2018

People travelling in Melbourne's inner-north are now enjoying safer and simpler access to trams with the opening of three new accessible tram stops along Nicholson Street.

The fully accessible stops improve access for all passengers using trams in the area which services the East Melbourne hospital precinct, the Melbourne Museum and the Royal Exhibition Building.

The new stops provide raised platforms to make it easier for passengers with accessibility needs and parents with prams to board trams.

The stops also include tactile surface indicators, bluestone finishes, improved lighting and real-time tram service information.

The new stops are serviced by the modern, low-floor E-Class trams.
