Autumn construction blitz on roads and public transport in April
26 Feb 2019
Melbourne and Victoria are growing fast. To help make your travel easier, we’re improving the transport network to enable it to carry more people. This will involve disruption to your journey, so we’d like to help you plan ahead to avoid long delays.
Timed to coincide with the April holiday period to cause the least impact on people’s travel, construction works will continue across the metropolitan and regional train networks to build the Metro Tunnel, remove dangerous level crossings and upgrade regional lines.
Before travelling, plan ahead and allow more time for your journey. We advise you to avoid the peak if you can and consider alternatives where possible. Expect your normal services to be busier than usual during this time. There will be more people using roads or different public transport lines if their usual journey is disrupted.
Thanks for your patience while we improve the transport network.
