Tram services disrupted on Tuesday 5 October

05 Oct 2021

Tram services will be disrupted on Routes 11 and 86 today with a lower-than-usual frequency at times due to driver availability at the New Preston Depot.

Minor disruption is likely on routes 96, 12 and 30, and all services on route 35 (City Circle) will be cancelled.

Yarra Trams and the Department of Transport are working closely with the Department of Health with a number of drivers currently in isolation after a driver at the Preston Depot tested positive for Covid-19.

It is expected this disruption will continue for several days as drivers return negative results and are cleared to return to work.

We are working to support staff, and exercising an abundance of caution in the interest of tram drivers, other employees and passengers.

We ask passengers to check TramTRACKER, the PTV mobile app or website to help plan their journey and for details about service cancellations.

Yarra Trams will endeavour to provide as regular a service as possible across the affected routes.

Public transport continues to operate under a strict COVID-safe plan with deep cleaning every night and more than 500 hand sanitisers installed across the network.

Passengers are reminded that if they are leaving home for one of the six permitted reasons, masks must be worn outside of the home, including on public transport.

We encourage everyone to monitor the Department of Health’s list of exposure sites at coronavirus.vic.gov.au

Real-time traffic conditions are available at traffic.vicroads.vic.gov.au or via the VicTraffic mobile app. The latest public transport information and network status is available on our disruptions page or in the PTV mobile app.
