2022 AFL Grand Final long weekend

During the AFL Grand Final long weekend on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 September 2022, there will be changes to public transport services. Plan ahead by using Journey planner or by downloading the free PTV app.
Grand Final Eve Public Holiday Friday 23 September
Metropolitan train
Metropolitan train services will run to a Saturday timetable.
Metropolitan tram
Tram services will run to a Saturday timetable, noting times may differ slightly from the normal Saturday timetable.
From Wednesday 21 September to Saturday 24 September (inclusive), the Free Tram Zone will be extended to the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The additional stops included in the Extended Free Tram Zone are:

Regional train and coach
V/Line trains will run to a Saturday timetable and scheduled coach services will run to an altered Saturday timetable.
Metropolitan and regional bus
Metropolitan and regional bus services will run to a public holiday timetable.
Bus routes 503 and 506 will not run.
Bus route 684 between Eildon & Southern Cross will run to the usual Route 684 public holiday timetable.
Night Network
Night network services will operate as normal on Friday 23 September 2022.
Ticketing
The daily myki Money fare will be capped at $6.70 (half price for concessions) for all-day unlimited travel in Zone 1+2, in line with normal Public Holiday fares.
V/Line paper ticket fares will be off peak, in line with normal Public Holiday fares.
AFL Grand Final Saturday 24 September
Metropolitan train
Metropolitan train services will run to a normal Saturday timetable with additional services to the AFL Grand Final.
Metropolitan tram
