Free travel for Victorian Carers during the 2024 Carers Week

Victorian carers can explore Melbourne and regional Victoria with free travel during the National Carers Week from Sunday 13 October to Saturday 19 October 2024.
Victoria carers need to carry their Victorian Carer Card (‘We Care’) or a Centrelink Pensioner Concession Card on public transport. Eligible carers with their carers myki can touch on and off as usual. myki fares won’t be charged during this period.
Free travel during this period covers all public transport in Victoria, including:
- Melbourne’s trains, trams and buses
- Regional trains, coaches and buses (including regional town buses and inter-town buses)
Please note, some private bus operators, airport services and privately operated tourist trains and buses are excluded.
Seat reservations are recommended on all long-distance V/Line rail services and some coach services.
Bookings can be made by visiting your nearest V/Line station, ticket outlet or by calling us on 1800 800 007 from 10am on Monday 16 September 2024. Tickets need to be collected within 48 hours. Alternatively, tickets can be posted (only for phone bookings made more than 10 business days ahead of travel).
