Public transport for Anzac Day: Friday 25 April 2025

Public transport services will operate to a public holiday timetable on Anzac Day, Friday 25 April 2025.
Services will mostly run to a Saturday timetable with some alterations and extra services running for the Anzac Day Shrine Dawn Service. Passengers are advised to allow additional time to get to the Shrine of Remembrance.
During public holidays, your daily myki fare is capped at $7.60 ($3.80 for concessions and seniors).
While some concession holders may benefit from free travel on weekends, please note this entitlement does not extend to public holiday weekend timetables. During public holidays, normal myki fare caps apply.

Before you travel

Friday 25 April
Metropolitan train
Trains will operate to a Saturday timetable with additional services running for Anzac Day Dawn service.

Metropolitan tram
Trams will operate to a Saturday timetable with additional services running for Anzac Day Dawn service.
Extra trams will operate for the Anzac Day Dawn Service. Service changes will also affect trams during the Anzac Day Parade. Find out more about service changes during the Anzac Day Dawn Service and Anzac Day Parade.

Metropolitan bus
Most metropolitan bus services will run to a Saturday timetable, but some services may be altered or will not run. Please check your route before travelling.
Regional Bus Services vary based on the operator.
Night Network buses will run as normal.

V/Line trains will run to a Saturday timetable with the following alterations.
The Overland – Melbourne – Adelaide

The Overland service from Melbourne to Adelaide will operate to a normal Friday service.

V/Line coaches will run to a Saturday timetable with the following alterations.
Canberra - Bairnsdale
- Coach service - Canberra to Bairnsdale/Traralgon will run on Anzac Day.
Melbourne - Mildura
- Coach service – 9.10pm from Melbourne to Mildura will operate as per Friday timetable.
- Coach service – 10.05pm from Mildura to Melbourne will operate as per Friday timetable.
Mallacoota
- Coach service – Genoa to Mallacoota will run on Anzac Day.
Night Coach
- Night coach services will run.
