Adjusted V/Line timetable from the end of this month
Added: 5 January 2016
On 31 January 2016, V/Line will introduce a revised timetable for the Ballarat, Bendigo and Geelong train lines. Some V/Line coach routes will also have adjusted schedules.
V/Line Chief Executive Theo Taifalos said a timetable review had identified some adjustments to the schedule to help reduce delays, improve connections and accommodate stage one of Bendigo Metro Rail.
“Rather than a complete overhaul of the V/Line network timetable, we have focused on making adjustments to address some ongoing challenges, including our rapid patronage growth.”
Mr Taifalos said improving the spacing of trains using the Regional Rail Link was a key feature of the timetable adjustment.
“We’re now running 30 per cent more weekday trains than before the Regional Rail Link was fully activated on 21 June 2015.”
V/Line has welcomed thousands of new customers and patronage is up 20 per cent compared with this time last financial year.
Performance is improving along with network punctuality in November up to 89.2 per cent, compared with 85.6 per cent in July.
Capacity on the network has also been boosted, with a total of 12 carriages added to the fleet since June as part of the roll out of new VLocity trains manufactured at Dandenong.
Train and coach timetables are available online at the PTV and V/Line websites, on the V/Line and PTV apps and at V/Line staffed stations and ticket agents.
A pocket timetable can be mailed out to customers on request by calling 1800 800 007.
