myki Quick Top up is here!
Added: 9 June 2016
Next generation myki devices are being installed across the network over the coming weeks to provide a faster and improved passenger experience.
myki Quick Top up machines are being trialled at 10 of Melbourne’s busiest metropolitan and regional stations and stops.
The new myki Quick Top up machine allows you to check your balance and quickly make a contactless payment to top up your myki money balance on the spot.
The trial will run for a minimum of 12 weeks at the following regional and metropolitan locations:
- PTV Hub (Southern Cross)
- Melbourne Central Station
- Footscray Station
- Parliament Station
- South Yarra Station
- Flinders Street Station
- Richmond Station
- Geelong Station
- Domain Interchange Tram Stop
- Spencer Street/Bourke Street Tram Stop
The trial will help PTV to understand how the faster Quick Top up machines improve passenger flow at key locations and reduce demand on myki vending machines.
Next Generation devices have received positive feedback since their introduction to the network, including reducing queues at some of the busiest locations on our network.
Once the trial is complete, PTV will assess the suitability for installing Quick Top up machines at other locations across the network.
Passengers can provide feedback online by completing a short survey available on the mykiQT page.
