PTV supports the Intelligent Transport Systems World Congress
Added: 6 October 2016
Next week, Melbourne hosts the 23rd World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems and we are thrilled to be an exhibition partner for this exciting industry event.
This week-long annual conference is an opportunity for international leaders in the field of transport to demonstrate the work they do and connect with other thought leaders.
The theme this year explores “Enhancing liveable cities and communities” and includes sub-themes of open data, smart cities, mobile applications and automated vehicles.
This is a wonderful opportunity for us to showcase our digital capability and how we are using data to: better understand how passengers use the network, explore innovative ways to deliver customer information and better plan for an integrated transport network of the future.
PTV CEO Jeroen Weimar is a key-note speaker for the ‘Mobility as a Service’ session in the program. This will explore the growing demands on our city and the resulting pressure on transport authorities to deliver smart, integrated and accessible transport networks.
We have a space in the main exhibition hall co-located with VicRoads, are participating in workshops, conducting tours of the Metro Trains and Yarra Trams control centres and supporting the ‘Smart Cities Hackathon’.
Held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, the exhibition space for the congress is free and open to the public on Thursday 13 and Friday 14 October.
We encourage anyone interested in public transport to come and see the work we are doing , including the world-first use of technology to count the number of people travelling on trams and waiting for trams.
