Regional rail connectivity

Added: 14 September 2018

Regional Victorians will now benefit from better mobile coverage for a more connected journey across the state.

Victoria’s entire VLocity train fleet has been fitted with mobile signalling boosters, improving the mobile coverage for passengers on the Bendigo, Geelong, Ballarat, Traralgon and Seymour lines.

New mobile towers constructed along the lines will connect with the boosters onboard the VLocity trains to increase mobile coverage for passengers as they travel.

The improvement will allow passengers to be more productive during their daily commute or have a more enjoyable journey due to the better connections for social or entertainment purposes.

Some blackspots will remain until all of the 35 mobile towers are up and running, however even without the new towers passengers will notice improvements in coverage.
