Route 605: Temporary bus stop closures from Tuesday 10 July 2018 until further notice

Bus Route 605 buses will not service selected bus stops from Tuesday 10 July 2018 until further notice, due to works to transform Southbank Boulevard. 

These bus services are also likely to experience delays due to the buses needing to detour around the works.

Service Changes

Route 605 will not service stops between Queensbridge Street and Alexandra Avenue/Chapel Street in both directions.

Bus stops that will not be serviced towards Gardenvale:

  • Southbank Boulevard/Kavanagh Street
  • Southbank Boulevard/Victorian Arts Centre
  • Birdwood Avenue/Shrine of Remembrance
  • Birdwood Avenue/Domain Road
  • Melbourne Girls Grammar/Anderson Street

Bus stop that will not be services towards Flagstaff Station:

  • Melbourne Girls Grammar/Anderson Street
  • Birdwood Avenue/Domain Road
  • Birdwood Avenue/Melbourne Observatory
  • Southbank Boulevard/Victorian College of the Arts
  • Southbank Boulevard/City Road

Alternative transport

Passengers are advised to consider tram Route 58 or trams along St Kilda Road as an alternative mode of transport.

Route 605 passengers can also use the temporary bus stops located at the corner of Alexandra Avenue/Anderson Street.

Please note: Route 605 (to Flagstaff) will not service the bus stop at Alexandra Avenue/Anderson Street from first bus Tuesday 5 February to last bus Tuesday 12 February 2019 ,due to works.

During this time, passengers may use the temporary stop approximately 250 metres west on Alexander Avenue (before the pedestrian crossing).
