Removing level crossings
The Victorian Government is removing 50 dangerous and congested level crossings around Melbourne. These projects are improving safety, reducing congestion, creating jobs and enabling more frequent train services.
A dedicated Level Crossing Removal Authority (LXRA) has been established to deliver the program. LXRA will oversee the planning and delivery of each level crossing removal to ensure they are delivered in a coordinated and efficient way. Public Transport Victoria (PTV) is working closely with LXRA to minimise disruptions to public transport services during construction.
Visit the LXRA website to find out which level crossings are being removed as well as details and information about each project. You can also call LXRA on 1800 762 667.
