Melbourne operates the world's largest tram network. Public Transport Victoria are delivering a large program of works to upgrade the network to a world class system, improving its accessibility, capacity, reliability and safety.

Improving tram accessibility

Victoria has an obligation under the Commonwealth Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA) to significantly increase the number of level access stops and low-floor trams on the network over time.

Route 96 - World Trade Centre tram stop

Route 96 Upgrade

PTV in partnership with Yarra Trams and VicRoads is currently developing plans for infrastructure upgrades along Route 96 to improve access, safety, reliability and efficiency for tram customers using the route.
