Mobile myki trial

Mobile myki trial

Mobile myki is new technology that will allow passengers with an eligible Android device to pay for public transport using their smartphone.

After a successful first phase of the trial, 4,000 people have been selected to help us test the technology across Victoria’s public transport network.

The new technology will make travelling more convenient, allowing you to pay for public transport travel using an Android smartphone.

In the first phase of the trial we found passengers could top-up in a matter of seconds without having to queue for a ticket machine on their Mobile myki.

Mobile myki uses all existing myki ticket gates and readers in metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria, without the need for any new infrastructure to be built.

Expressions of interest in the trial are now closed, and the trial will run until the end of March.
