Belgrave, Lilydale and Alamein lines disruptions

Buses replace trains on sections of the Belgrave and Lilydale lines

To support Bedford Road, Ringwood, Dublin Road, Ringwood East, Coolstore Road, Croydon and Cave Hill Road, Lilydale level crossing removal works, buses will replace trains on sections of the Belgrave and Lilydale lines from 8.30pm Tuesday 30 January to April 2024.

We’re powering ahead to make the Lilydale Line level crossing free and getting rid of more boom gates on the Belgrave Line in 2024, a year ahead of schedule.

To support these works, buses will replace trains on sections of the Belgrave and Lilydale lines from Tuesday 30 January to April 2024.

Further information about rail disruptions during February, March and April will be provided in early 2024.

Croydon Station temporarily closed

Croydon Station is temporarily closed. While the station is closed, trains are not stopping at Croydon Station. A shuttle bus service is connecting passengers from Croydon to trains at Ringwood East and Mooroolbark stations. Catch the shuttle bus from the train replacement bus stop on Devon Street, Croydon.

All facilities, including myki services and the Parkiteer are unavailable. Alternative bike hoops are available near the park at 99 Main Street, Croydon.

The new Croydon Station will open by Spring 2024.

Additional travel support and information

For the safety and comfort of all passengers, there are restrictions on what you may take with you on buses.

You cannot:

  • Take a conventional bike on a bus or tram (only folding bikes that meet the size criteria).
  • Take an animal on a bus or tram unless it is in a suitable container. Exceptions apply for assistance dogs.
  • Take a surfboard on a tram or a bus.

Wheelchair Accessible Taxis are available and most train replacement buses will be low-floor models to assist passengers. Please speak to the customer service staff at your replacement bus stop, station staff or contacting PTV prior to your travel on 1800 800 007.
