Extra trams for special events

We’re running extra trams for the below events during February and March. While trams run to their normal frequency, times may differ due to traffic congestion around event venues. Please allow extra time for your journey.

  • Thursday 14 March at 7.30pm - AFL Rd 1, Carlton v Richmond. 
  • Friday 15 March at 7.40pm - AFL Rd 1, Collingwood v Sydney.
  • Saturday 16 March at 1.45pm - AFL Rd 1, Essendon v Hawthorn. 
  • Sunday 17 March at 1pm - AFL Rd 1, Melbourne v Western Bulldogs.
  • Thursday 21 March at 7.30pm - AFL Rd 2, St Kilda v Collingwood.
  • Saturday 23 March at 4.35pm - AFL Rd 2, Hawthorn v Melbourne. 
  • Sunday 24 March at 4pm - AFL Rd 2, Richmond v Port Adelaide.
  • Sungay 31 March at 4pm - AFL Rd 3, Richmond v Sydney. 

Extra tram services run as Route 70a between Flinders Street Station and Stop 7C MCG Gates 4-7/John Cain Arena or as Route 75a between Flinders Street Station and Stop 11 Jolimont Station/MCG.

Passengers at Southern Cross Station can reach Stop 11 Jolimont Station/MCG by using Route 48 trams on Collins Street.

Extra trams running along Flinders Street to the above events will be accessible low-floor trams, depending on availability.

  • Wednesday 28 February at 8pm - Womens International Football, Matildas v Uzbekistan.
  • Sunday 24 March at 1.45pm - AFL Rd 2, North Melbourne v Fremantle.
  • Friday 29 March at 4.20pm - AFL Rd 3, North Melbourne v Carlton.
  • Saturday 30 March at 4.20pm - AFL Rd 3, Essendon v St Kilda. 
  • Sunday 31 March at 1pm - AFL Rd 3, Western Bulldogs v West Coast Eagles.

Extra tram services run as Route 86a between East Melbourne and Stop D1 Stadium Precinct/La Trobe Street or Route 30a between Stop 12 St Vincent’s Plaza and Stop D1 Stadium Precinct/La Trobe Street.

Extra tram services run as Route 30a between Stop 12 St Vincent’s Plaza and Stop D1 Stadium Precinct/La Trobe Street via Bourke Street.
