Timetable changes to Route 235 and Route 237

From 15 October 2023, bus Route 235 City – Fishermans Bend via Williamstown Road and Route 237 City – Fishermans Bend via Lorimer St will start and end at Southern Cross Station; services will be boosted, and the hours of operation increased. There will also be more services on Route 215 and minor timetable changes to routes 216, 220, 223 and 234.

Changes on routes 235 and 237

The changes will mean an extra 460 services each week on top of the 920 services introduced to Fishermans Bend late last year.

Weekday AM and PM frequency during the peaks will increase to every eight minutes on both routes to deliver an even better turn-up-and-go service.

Outside the peaks, both routes will continue to operate every 10-minutes until 9pm and then every 20-minutes on the newly introduced late night services until midnight.

Weekday services will also start earlier, before 6am, as requested by passengers.

The weekend frequency of Route 235 will increase to every 20 minutes throughout the day, with services running from 6.00am to midnight on Saturdays and 7am to midnight on Sundays.

New bus bays are being constructed on Spencer Street opposite Flinders Lane, which will enable buses to operate in a more efficient one-way loop around the western end of the CBD to make for a faster journey.

Passengers travelling on Route 235 or Route 237 services in the CBD will need to travel to Collins Street, opposite Southern Cross Station, to access these bus routes.

Additional changes

As part of these changes, Route 215 Caroline Springs – Highpoint Shopping Centre services will be boosted with an extra 60 services per week.

There are also minor changes to routes 216, 220, 223 and 234 that will better reflect current traffic conditions and improve service reliability.
