Asylum seekers
If you're an asylum seeker, you may be eligible for a PTV Asylum Seeker ID and a Concession myki. This gives you a 50 per cent discount on travel.
Eligibility
To apply for a PTV Asylum Seeker ID you must:
- be aged 17 or older
- hold or be applying for a bridging visa under the Migration Act 1958 (Commonwealth)
- not have any other entitlement to public transport concession fares (such as a Victorian Healthcare Card or Pensioner Concession Card).

Send your completed application form to Public Transport Victoria at PO Box 4724, Melbourne 3001, or you can hand the form in at a PTV Hub.
Expiry
Your PTV Asylum Seeker ID is valid for two years from the date it is issued. Once your concession card has expired, you'll need to apply for a new PTV Asylum Seeker ID.
If your visa status changes, return your PTV Asylum Seeker ID to the PTV Hub at Southern Cross Station and ask about alternative concession cards.
