Interstate travel

If you wish to travel interstate on public transport, you can do so from two major transport hubs within Melbourne, which each connect with metropolitan public transport services.

These hubs are:

  • Southern Cross Station (Melbourne CBD) Provides train and coach connections to New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory and South Australia. Using connecting services from each of these states customers can then travel to Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory.
  • Station Pier (Port Melbourne) Provides ferry connection to Tasmania and is the international cruise-ship terminal

There are different transport options available to customers travelling interstate, with some services operating as a combination.

Please note: For any interstate travel changes due to coronavirus, see Coronavirus (COVID-19) information.
