To find items lost on public transport, contact us and let us know what route you were travelling on and when. You can hand in any found items to public transport staff or an Authorised Officer.

Lost and found
If you've left personal belongings on a train, tram or bus, call us on 1800 800 007.
To help find your missing item, give us as much information as possible - the route you were travelling on, the direction you were heading, and the time the item went missing.
Metropolitan trains
The Lost Property Office at Flinders Street Station is currently closed and all collection is by appointment only.
If you think you have lost an item on a train or at a station, you can call Metro Trains on 9610 7512 from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (except public holidays) or email [email protected]
After hours, call 1800 800 007.
Metropolitan trams
Valuable items found on a tram will be collected at the end of the day and transferred to the police station nearest to the tram depot twice a week.
If you think you may have lost your item at a tram stop, please contact the police station closest to that tram stop.
Valuable items include passports, mobile phones, laptops, wallets, electronic devices, handbags and medicine.
Unfortunately, other items will be disposed of.

Metropolitan buses
Contact your local Bus operator or call 1800 800 007.
Items left on buses are kept at bus depots.
Regional trains and buses
Call V/Line on 03 9619 2588 from 6am to 10pm. After hours, you can call 1800 800 007.
Found items
If you find lost property on a train, tram or bus, give it to public transport staff or an Authorised Officer.
